Screening donors for <scp>COVID</scp> ‐19 convalescent plasma

Background Convalescent plasma is used as a treatment for COVID-19. Only limited data describe the efforts to recruit COVID-19 convalescent (CCP) donors. We our experience engaging persons recovered from donate CCP. Study Design and Methods performed retrospective analysis of CCP recruitment an 11-hospital health system in Houston, Texas. sought donations from: a) “volunteers” responding advertisements social media, press releases, websites b) “referred” individuals directed program or identified hospitalization records. determined proportions donor candidates who passed initial telephone screening, qualified after diagnostic testing, presented regional donation center, completed donation. Results There were 900 candidates, including 363 volunteers 537 referred Of 360 contacted volunteers, 186 (5.7%) excluded by interview; 133 additional 97 antibody antigen 87 donation, resulting 35 (9.7% contacts).
